New work

I have been busy today! here's a sneak peek of what I am working on. (jeeze, is it just me or is my brain having too many farts today?) Since no one has stepped up to be my artist I decided to scour my hard drives and backup disks for my old runtime and lo and behold I found it. Its a little out dated and stuff but it's passable. The current release of Daz Studio has a shadow ambient bug so I am defaulting to a gray shadow, instead of a deeper color of the main color like I prefer. After all, youre not gray when you step into shadow, you are much a darker skin tone. I do try to be realistic now, but I gotta shelve my pride and work with what I have or I will never update, as I am sure some of you think so. Anyhow, check back later for a funny test comic featuring yours truly.

Work with me!

Well, as you can see me and Daz are having a major argument. Every time I think I have it I get thrown back. I see another error, or the coloring isnt right, as you can see my avatar's hair is much too bright and that is because of the Highlight/specular is not defused properly by the shadow/ambient color. It's all a jumbled mess, But I thought id update everyone so they know what is going on. Dont forget to subscribe to the RSS feed so you can see what is going on. If you chose the main site then you will also sere my blog posts :P Anyhow, back to the ring. I wouldnt mind a few donations, to be honest but dont feel obligated just because I asked :P I might go ahead and redo the site when I get the chance, so that's another reason to subscribe to the feed :P

Artist wanted

Daz 3d (my software) has ruined my runtime, I cannot update they have not done anything at all to fix the problem, so I must see if I cannot locate a temp to long term artist. I cannot draw myself, due to a hurt wrist or I would do so. Requirements are Some skill, I dont care if you're a little sloppy, long as you can draw my characters, and sometimes others, in an easily recognizable form. You dont need to be like Pasqual (sp) of Zap! just be half way decent and able to take critique so that you can improve. I prefer to update with at least 4 panels tuesday and friday in full color, there is no need to shade unless it is special effects. Aim/yahoo/hotmail/gmail and able to be on from 8am to 6pmish EST, for that is my waking schedule, I have a night job. Able to follow a script and draw backgrounds half way decent, currently a library with very specific layout. If texting is your problem you can leave it to me for speed, I am now good with word bubbles and will try not to cover up too much of your artwork, I use transparent balloons anyhow. Ability to work for free. After all, webcomic business rarely puts food on the table. This a chance to expand your skills and challenge yourself by working with a writer. If I think of anything else I'll let you know, but those are the basic requirements. If you live near Ohio we can even meet in person one day. ;)

Updates

Recently Ive been having trouble updating. The reason is when I first made the library it became so complex that Daz studio would take up to 5 hours to save a file. Trying to cut this down, I redid the books but somehow or another the file simply would not load, despite me making the books simple boxes. After about 4 days of trying all that I could think of I decided try with the old books, but instead of with the shelves I would use the new ones that I made and not use quite so many books at once, opting to simply move the non visible ones if I need to add more, like around Alex. My hard work payed off, now it loads and saves in an acceptable time. So this means that I should be able to whip up tomorrow's comic without too much trouble. I sure hope so, I'd hate to have to delay again. Anyhow, thanks for reading and have a good day my friends. ---Xade

Meaner Side of Alex

This is part of the 2009 Cameo Caper. ---------- Well, I hurt my wrist, and while I was healing I decided t5o upgrade my computer to windows 7 64 bit. So far I love Windows 7. I can even tolerate the UAC because of all the other things that is so cool about it. However, it came at the price of me forgetting half my brushes and stuff so I gotta locate them online again. No big deal, I kept the links and stuff and I also kept all my downloads so I should be able to locate them again, except for the custom ones. Also, Daz Studio was being a pain in the tail by taking forever to save and load files. I have to go over the library again and trim down all the extra polygons. Do the books as boxes and everything else. I'm sure there is about 30 per book I can trim off, and being that there's a few hundred books in that scene that will quickly add up. They won't look very realistic but currently I'm just working on being able to have the full library loaded so I don't have to worry about it. I also have to make a new character, the giggler that we hear. All in all I may have to take another week off, but with luck only Tuesday. So for now I'm only updating on Fridays until I get the two characters I need and the library done. see you next week :)

There will be no comic Friday due to me hurting my wrist, since active mousing hurts it some, and I want it to heal right. Instead, I thought I would update my site. I've added a few things under the hood and fine tuned a lot of what you see.

That's a Lot of Libraries

This is part of the 2009 Cameo Caper. ---------- I dont know if I got it across or not but I'm trying to show Alex just being tolerant of Alfred. Hope it shows. I also hope it looks like theyre walking quickly through the halls based upon how I changed the background. I want to get this show on the road. On a side note I hurt my hand again so there will not be a comic next Friday, hopefully there will be one next Tuesday.

Alex is very expressive with his hair and ears so I kinda had to show enough of them to get the entire feeling across.
