restarting IoX

After much consideration and winning an invite to the county party of the year I decided to reboot the comic early and make a T-shirt in an effort to get more fans and a little local fame. IoX is NOT being dropped but restarted. I urge you to PLEASE stay with me. Come the 24th I will be using a redirect to the new and improved version. What does this means to any links off the site? Absolutely nothing, all links to the index.php?=(whatever) will be preserved and the old comic will reside here. I will be forwarding the domain to the new site (pardon the dust) as a temporary forward so that the actual bookmark will not be changed. Don't forget to rss it too. I am currently scripting it and jotting down ideas. I made a new Drunk Duck comic with a really cool tagline that CoreFolf came up with "In a world gone mad, one cop must find the answers and his true destiny." I might be able to find time to at least finish the cliffhanger that I will be leaving you on, after the party, but once I am done with that one I will be pausing IoX in order to get V2 under way without interrupting much. Anyhow, thanks everyone for 4 wonderful years and here's to 4 more years of Insanity Xade now backed by experience!

Ducky Links

Attention Drunk duckers. Since the upgrade all of the duck's old links are invalid. This means the Crossover and Cameo archive is now in need of help. Hogan, who maintains it has asked that everyone please go through their archives, even if it's a little bit at a time and update their links. You can post you links here. Most of you probably didn't even know Hogan has existed until you stated to make cameos or started to do crossovers. Then you noticed a poster with the name Hogan who would start commenting about them, personally he did a "MORE crossovers... O.o *sob* (page break) Well, it looks good, so you are forgiven this time ;)" comment to incite my curiosity. Normally Hogan stumbles upon you if a more famous person like Joff does a cameo of you, then Hogan takes a look and comments once he notices a crossover/cameo. He then points out the archive in a PQ once he makes a page and tracks any and all cameos that you do. No one asks him to do this but it has been an invaluable tool to me. I've found quite a few cameos that I never knew I had until I checked my page there. But now the archive needs help. All browsers have a ctrl+f to find text, use it to find your comic, copy it in the fore mentioned thread (or a file on your desktop if you have a large entry) and update your links, for instance: - Life & Death - Xade herself has personally shown up to celebrate Steve and 400 strips of awesomeness! 12-08-2007 http://www.drunkduck.com/Life_and_Death/4922344/ If Hogan has them on hand then that will make it really easy to fix :) Thanks for the help :D

DDoS attack and DNS trouble

As anyone who tried to visit yesterday knows my host suffered a major DDoS attack. and my site now points to kptunes.com. Somehow the DNS got switched over, no idea how that happened but if you ever want to know my host's status here is their status page For now, update your bookmarks to http://insanityofxade.com/index.php to make sure you get to my site. I added a redirect so your browser should update itself once the DNS gets around to everyone.

Price of Magic

This is part of the 2009 Cameo Caper. =================================== Here you see me adding two more panels, since I finally have a good buffer up I thought I would add a couple more. Of course, I am used to doing four panels but another two isnt hard and the story will flow smoother per week. Also, I can set up little cliff hangers like this one more easily. I thought I would try 3d sparkle props that arent pwtooned, using the same technique as the fireball. I must say, I'm rather pleased with the results but I really need more shapes to play with than my old cylinder.

Dense Alfred

This is part of the 2009 Cameo Caper. =================================== I really really love how the last two panels came out, despite the wall not working right, I really should have raised that wall up more or made them a lot taller, ah well, live and learn. For those of you following my twitter you would know that I animated the last two panels. One of the quirks of dynamic cloth requires extreme poses, like arms folded, to be animated or it will just look like it was tossed through him. If I animate it then it will drape naturally. All I have to do is render the current frame and that takes care of it. I might even start animating each comic and just render stills, after all, it will be good practice for when I finally make an animated short featuring Alex and the gang. Shafted Fellows

This is part of the 2009 Cameo Caper. =================================== I know that it might seem like we're not really getting any where but really, we are. It's merely the short updates that is making it look like it is taking forever. I kinda needed the last comic's exposition to explain why Alex is now gray for a short time. I really need to set the stage for future comics, so that people will know what it means when Alex goes gray. If you put the last 3 updates together you will see that we are already at the charred spot where the shoes exploded. There is a very good reason for the slower pace. I am planning on doing 6 comic updates really soon, the 20th's is the first one. As such I wanted to make sure I did enough 4s before I got into 6s. You can thank Core Folf for the shafted joke. I know now I should have built the shaft a little bit better but I was in a hurry and had no idea that his shoes were going to explode until I got the idea and ran with it. There is a very good reason for him losing both his shoes and his shirt, which will be revealed here shortly.
